Thisvisually stunning smartphone features a stainless steel frame, hand-wrappedleather back cover, sculpted QWERTY keyboard, and a crystal clear touch screen.The P’9981 is basically a more stylish brother to the Bold 9900 with a 1 Ghzprocessor, 5MP camera, 8 GB of internal memoir and a microSD slot allowing forunto 40GB of additional memory. Now if you’ve already added it to their holidaywishlist here’s the slight bad news. هاتف "بلاك بيري" مستوحى من تصميمات سيارة"بورش" الألمانية

أطلقت شركة"ريسيرش إن موشن" الكندية بالتعاون مع شركة "بورشه ديزاين"الألمانية أول ثمرة تعاون مشترك بين الشركتين معاً وهو هاتف بلاك بيري ذو التصميمالفاخر الأنيق المستوحى من أناقة وفخامة تصاميم سيارات بورش الألمانية. وقد أطلقتالشركة على الهاتف اسم "Porsche Design P’9981". ويتمتع هذا الهاتف بخصائص ومواصفات فريدة من نوعها وبأقوى الأجهزةوالبرمجيات، حيث يتميز الهيكل الخارجي ولوحة الفاتيح للجهاز بأنهما مصنوعتان منالفولاذ المقاوم للصدأ، والغطاء الخلفي مغلف بنوعية فاخرة من الجلد، ومزود بلوحةمفاتيح انسيابية "كويرتي" صممت خصيصاً لهذا الهاتف، وشاشة فائقة الجودةمن الكريستال السائل تعمل باللمس، قياسها 2.8 بوصة درجة وضوحها (640x480) بيكسل، بمعدل 287 بيكسللكل بوصة.

ويعمل الهاتف بنظام التشغيل"بلاك بيري 7"، متضمناً الجيل القادم من متصفح بلاك بيري الأكثر سرعة،وبواجهة مستخدم مستلهمة من شركة بورش تحمل ملامح خطوط تصاميمها الرائعة.
والهاتف مزوّد بمعالج "Snapdragon MSM8655" المقدم من شركة "كوالكوم" بسرعة 1.4 غيغا هيرتز،وذاكرة عشوائية سعتها 768 ميغا بايت، وذاكرة مستخدم داخلية مثبته بسعة 8 غيغابايت.
ووفقاً لشركة "بورش" فسوف يحصل المستخدم عند شرائه الهاتف على ذاكرةتخزينية إضافية سعة 16 غيغا بايت. وبفضل مأخذ بطاقة "مايكرو إس دي" يمكناستيعاب بطاقات تخزينية حتى 40 غيغا بايت. ومزود بكاميرا دقتها 5 ميغا بيكسل قادرةعلى التقاط فيديو بدقة 720 بيكسل.

ويبلغ وزن الهاتف 155 غراماًوأبعاده (115x67x11.3) مم. ويدعم الجهاز تقنية"NFC"، والواي فاي ونظامتحديد المواقع وشبكات الجيل الثالث. ويوفر أيضاً للمستخدم متصفح "Wikitude World Browser"، يتيح مشاهدة صورمن جميع أنحاء العالم. علاوة على دعم الهاتف لتقنية "Liquid Graphics"، التي تجمع بينسرعة المعالج ودرجة وضوح العرض، الأمر الذي يعزز سرعة استجابة الشاشة للأوامراللمسية من خلال رسومات تستجيب سريعاً للأوامر، وبذلك تتوافر تجربة لمس عاليةوسلسة. والهاتف به جهاز استشعار يمنح المستخدم التعامل مع التطبيقات بواقعيةأكثر. وبفضل "PINs" الخاص ببلاك بيري، وهي عبارة عن أرقام تعريف شخصية، يستطيعمستخدمو هاتف "P’9981" التعرف إلى مقتني نفس الهاتف بكل سهولة ويسر.
وتخطط الشركتان طرح أولى منتجاتهما معاً بالأسواق نهاية نوفمبر/تشرين الثانيالمقبل، ومن المتوقع أن يصل سعره قرابة 2000 دولار أمريكي.

Polluted America: Amazingly colourful aerial pictures that highlight damage to Earth wrought by industry

At first glance they're beautiful, butthese incredible snaps reveal something far more ugly.

J Henry Fair's spectacular aerialimages show the devastation man has wreaked on America. Pollutionis exposed on a massive scale, creating striking vivid colours that highlight thescars of spillages, open cast mining, chemical and oil leaks, industrial decayand deforestation. Mr Fair, from New York, said thebeauty of the pictures draws people in and then they learn the reasons for thevivid colours and the shapes.He said: 'I have been concerned aboutenvironmental issues for a long time as well as being fascinated by the graphicbeauty of machines and the importance of industrial decay. 'Allof these interests combine in this body of work. 'Theycame together a few years ago with the realisation that this subject mattercould move people to potentially have the power to change our direction for thebetter. By the time I am actually photographing something, somuch research has gone into the subject that my understanding of it forces meto see it for what it is. During the shootingprocess, I am looking to compose and create images that will captivate, so insome sense I am attempting to make a silk purse from a sow's ear. Ihave found that the reason this project has had so much success is because thebeauty of the images initially draws audiences in; they are captivating in thesame way that timeless pieces by the great abstract expressionists are. I think that if the initial beauty in the photographswas not present, the project would not have the same affect on people. Because the pictures are so beautiful, people want tolearn more about what is going on in each image. MrFair has a photographic studio in New York and his images are available in hisnew book called 'The Day After Tomorrow: Images of Our Earth in Crisis.'
